Gellifeddgaer Farm Blackmill Bridgend CF35 6EN Tel 01443 672357 Mobile 07866 819922
Good quality meat from grass-fed sheep and cattle, either through grazing the fields or being fed silage and hay during the winter. We find that this has a definite bearing on the taste of the meat. The beef is also hung in the traditional manner.
The sheep live outside year-round, with the cattle being housed indoors from October to April. We take care to ensure that the animals are reared under the highest practical standards of welfare. Customers can visit the farm to collect their order and see for themselves the conditions that the animals live in. The meat is processed at a local abattoir and we have our own refridgeration unit at the farm for storage of the meat.
Care is given to the countryside, combining agriculture with care for the environment. The farm is in the 'Tir Gofal' environmental scheme and we have won awards with our lamb, beef and pork in the True Taste Awards for 2004/05. 2005/06 2007/08 and 2008/09, also 2008 Gold Award for beef in the Great Taste Awards which covers the whole of the UK and Ireland.
